The island looks good. It took several hours to put together and also made some adjustments. Left panel did not have pre drilled holes, therefore could not install divider. I do not have a drill and not going to spend money to use just for that. Too bad, factory inspection is not great to allow this to pass.UPDATE: 8/20/18 - The bars that hold the paper towels have both cracked where they meet the island. I had read reviews where people complained about this happening. One side we don’t even USE so there is no excuse and I made sure not to over tighten. I will be contacting Crosley customer service about this. In meantime I give the stars a downgrade.Okay, first the bad:This thing was delivered in two massive boxes that the UPS man couldn’t get up to our house without help. Thank goodness I was here to help at the time. I’m sure I would have had a much more beat up island if I weren’t here to help carry. So you might want to plan on being home to help move the thing. The smell is ATROCIOUS. It is chemical death. I opened the box and within minutes had a headache. The entire living room/kitchen smells of the chemical even though I had the windows open to vent because it was warm outside. My coat (which was hanging near it) soaked up the smell and when I left it in my office and came back, my office smelled like chemical death. It’s been three days and even with leaving the drawers and doors open the smell is STILL insanely strong. I hope after a week or two that goes away. Luckily I’m not storing food in there because I can only imagine the smell would seep into boxes.I read reviews about damage and I got pretty lucky. I only have a couple knicks and scratches. As I said before, I think being home to help carry it helped. The cams and screws provided were troublesome. Because the bolts didn’t fit straight in, a lot of the cams couldn’t be tightened properly. Multiple screws were already stripped somehow. Luckily I had replacement parts of our own that worked for the stripped screws. The good:I assembled this on my own without help meaning it’s pretty user friendly. For the part where you have to assemble it on its side, I used the styrofoam inserts to hold up the pieces so I could screw things in correctly. If you have a second person, great, but if not it can be completed on your own with a little creativity. The butcher block top is beautiful. I read some people had warped or broken tops. I lucked out and mine is perfect. What is nice is that IF something happens the top can be easily removed and replaced with something else. The drawers, doors, and shelving are all sturdy and thick. I’m very pleased. I love that I can open the drawers/doors from either side. I also like that because it has doors on both sides it looks finished no matter where you are standing. The price was good! I looked at multiple websites and I couldn’t find ANY island with these measurements for under $800. Everyone I saw in the $500 price range was 18” deep and I needed 22-24” deep. This one hit in the middle and fit my super long Tupperware containers. The look overall is good. It looks like a quality piece and because it’s white it pretty much matches anything. I’m very happy with it. A friend of my husband has had the exact same island for seven years and he loves it, so I feel confident it is a durable piece.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the few knicks/scratches and the horrid smell that has yet to dissipate. This is heavy so have a dolly or someone to help you move it. That said it was easy to assemble. It does have a chemical smell, but it only took a few weeks for it to go away. It is super sturdy. I did put a carpet underneath it to keep it from sliding/ scuffing my tile. It has definitely added much needed counter space. I would definitely buy again.Looks great, excellent storage. Assembly instructions are good, but will take several hours to do so. Would buy again. As you can see the top of the island has a terrible BOW.This prevents me from securing the top to the base with the included screws. Also, when assembling the base it doesn’t explain which end is up until after the thing is screwed together. Where the magnets need to be screwed in to keep the doors closed is not specific. So now my doors are upside down and I refuse to disassemble this thing to turn them over. Pretty expensive item for these critical issues to have happened.Overall the cabinet is beautiful. It took my contractor several hours to put it together (he said that the instructions had him putting it together backwards, and he had to take it apart and start over once he realized the issue). It seems sturdy and spacious, but the two drawers slide straight through from back to front with no glides to make them steady. Not sure yet how much of an issue this will be. UPDATE - this is definitely an issue once the drawers are filled. the weight makes them harder to open/close. I'm going to try to install glides myself.BUT - the pieces were wrapped in plastic that had a very strong and toxic smell and two days later it has not dissipated. I have left the doors and drawers open, washed the surfaces with vinegar, then left bowls of baking soda in each drawer and one each shelf, then finally I washed with a mixture of baking soda, dish soap and essential oils, leaving a thin paste to dry. This seems to have knocked it down a bit, but not out.I'm not sure what I'll do if it's not gone by tomorrow, but I'm definitely not loading my kitchen wares into that toxic stink...I'll update after I see if it clears. UPDATE - on day four the smell has subsided but is not altogether gone. If I knew then what I know now, I would have unwrapped all the parts and left them to air out in the garage for several days before bringing it in the house to assemble.I want to give this a 3.5 stars. I love the look and extra storage but this required a lot of customizing. One main structural panel came with all the predilled holes on the wrong side. Thankfully i have all the tools and router bits needed to fix the issue but for someone who doesn't, they would have been stuck shipping this massive thing back. The smell wasn't terrible like a lot of reviews stated. Smell was gone by the next day. The top butcher block does have a curve to it as well so i secured it a little more to make sure it would not continue warping. I got this during a heavy holiday discount. At full price i would have given this 2 stars. The chemical smell smell is still there 2 weeks later , the wife threatened to put it outside , one section of instructions was not there so that took another 1/2 hour to figure that out and it was an important step as a tradesman it took me a little thinking it must be harder for the average home owner. For this money we get plastic hinges and no drawer glides ? I accually had to align one door. The delivery was early, very easy to put together, very happy with my purchase. Very good ad in describing piece, and the pictures were accurate of the product.Had this product for two years now, great product, just need to make your own door seals and it is mint!
