Had it for two weeks. Works well so far. Ticking is noticeable if in same room, but not any louder than many mechanical timers. I think the bell is loud enough and I can hear it in the other room with the TV on. It's a long bell like an old alarm clock and goes for about five seconds. Rubberized material feels good and is non-slip.
