Beautiful sink.I himmed and I haaa'd a lot before finally buying this sink. It's expensive, but wow is it impressive once installed.First, it's heavy, about 130 lbs. You aren't moving it on your own. It came on a liftgate box truck from Amazon. I had it shipped to my work because I had a forklift I could use there. The delivery people were delighted that I did this.Install requires a bit of work. You must construct a frame out of 2x4's in the base cabinet this goes in after cutting the hole in the front of the cabinet for the apron. I went through three skill saw blades to get this cut (one was my fault because I tried cutting through a screw I did not know was there using the wood blade. After lots of foul language I was ready to slide this puppy in to place. A friend helped and we were able to heave it up without too much issue.A word of warning, the instructions have you installing the frame such that the sink sits a bit below the countertop level. The countertop installer is having me raise the sink some. We're talking 1/8" of an inch, but I wish I had known before hand. After that I was able to install a 1hp garbage disposer, which barely fit. The location of this in the back corner is great and lets you have very compact plumbing under the sink. To a degree it is almost too compact, but I am glad I have it nice and tight. I also fit a RO water filter and storage tank easily along with some other kitchen cleaning supplies.I find myself knocking on the front of the sink from time to time to hear the sound it makes. The size is great also, I am really liking the one giant tub aspect. I also purchased the wire frame that goes in the bottom, this is worth it as it keeps the enamel in better shape. Cleaning is easy with the Kohler cast iron cleaner. I've been using this for around two months so far and it cleans up to look like it is brand new every time.We recently remodeled our kitchen and the wife wanted a big, cast-iron sink. After looking at several designs from multiple manufacturers I determined the Kohler to be the ideal "fit" for our new IKEA kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops. The Kohler sink perfectly hides the transition between the apron and the base cabinet.I had this sink in my last house which was built in 2018. Moved to bigger house and have to remodel kitchen. I LOVED this sink so much that I bought it for this house too. Having the drain on the side instead of the middle is a great feature. Also the sink bottom is sloped slightly so water and crumbs run easily to the drain. without having to waste an ocean of water chasing it. The material is much more durable than I ever imagined (it is actually cast iron, enameled), and it cleans easily to a shine. Dirt is not easily seen on the white sink. I love it, can't say enough about it.I love the sink style, just was not expecting the orange peel like surface. Came well packaged and on time. The sink was shipped and it is very heavy. Small crack was almost not noticed and over a 2 months time installed the crack has spead.Cleans up great and looks beautiful in my island.$825 for a sink? Yep.This is the main focal point in our kitchen, and while I was reluctant to pull the trigger on the most expensive sink I have ever owned, I'm glad we did.The build quality is second to none. Sink is very heavy, over 140 lbs. Have a friend help you set it in place to avoid hurting yourself. Even though you may be able to lift the weight, its an awkward way it needs to set in, and requires a touch of finesse to avoid dinging your cabinet as it goes in.It is beautifully made, sleek and shiny with no bumps or voids in the finish that I could find. High quality and perfect. There are other sinks on Amazon or overstock that look very similar for a few hundred dollars cheaper. Dont be fooled by them. They are mostly constructed of fireclay, which is a fancy term for ceramic. They will not hold up to the abuse that the cast iron finish this kohler sink will take.If you have picked out your dream kitchen and pinned the ones you like in the multimillion dollar homes on pintrest, this is the sink you keep seeing. This is the sink to buy, and yes it is expensive. But when you spend a thousand or two on each of your other kitchen appliances, this is not the place to go cheap.A beautiful piece of work, would definitely recommend.can sratch with pots, pans cleaning with kohler cleaner can get expensive
