Purchased and had this Grohe Ashford faucet (for over $500) and had it professionally installed in 6.5 years ago. The cost was significantly higher than other faucets I considered, but I liked the lines of this model and Grohe's supposedly high quality and advertised lifetime warranty made it seem a good investment. It worked fine for a couple years. However, over time the spout became increasingly difficult to swivel smoothly, left to right, when directing it from one sink basin to the other. A couple months ago it finally reached the point where it no longer swiveled at all. I emailed Grohe America's customer service department, providing my receipt and, as requested, pictures of the faucet (from above and under the sink) with detailed notes of which elements were not working properly. In response I got a one-line response from a Grohe "customer care support specialist," that shed no light on how to resolve the problem. After several more email exchanges, the rep finally processed a "goodwill order" (Grohe's term) to send me a handful of parts which, after receiving, installing, and following directions to grease other parts of the faucet, still failed to resolve the problem. I've ordered a Kohler to replace the entire thing. Given the high cost of this fixture, I expected better quality and support. In my experience, Grohe's lifetime warranty provided a false sense of assurance about the product's quality and the company's commitment to stand behind it.
