The item is just made out of heavy, molded plastic — it reminds me of the animal-shaped juice bottles that kids can buy at the zoo — but so far that seems to be good enough in terms of sturdiness. The pump itself is reasonably sturdy. And the design is beyond adorable!!! We’ve had it for a couple of months and it still gives me a smile every time I wash my hands.
