This faucet is just what I needed -- #1. If you look at the height of similar shaped faucets, some of them are16" high which overwhelms smaller kitchens with less counter space, this one is 14 1/2" tall. #2.I love the modern, clean look and simplicity, less parts, less to go wrong.I asked a lot of questions before installation. Answers: Yes, It can be installed directly onto stainless steel drop in sink without afoot plate or, as advertised, on a counter deck. Out of the box, the head just hung down from faucet and would not stay clicked in. Then I realized that the small black weight provided holds down the tubing under sink and keeps the faucet in place.
