If you get a few good recipes from a cookbook it is great - but this one - OMG! I have been cooking from it all week and still have more food to make. The recipes are creative, healthy, filling - and oh so good. The little meal ideas and notes at the side are very inspiring. My favorite dish so far is the Beet Bourguignon - or is it the Root Mash - maybe its the broccoli salad . . . see what I mean?! I haven't been disappointed with one single thing I have made from this book. My non vegetarian family also love the meals cooked from this book. I have ordered the second book - but it is back ordered so I have to wait a bit. The photos are inspiring and true to what your food will look like when finished. I highly recommend this book to everyone/anyone - you won't be disappointed! Check out the blog too! David and Luise are very inspiring and creative. http://www.greenkitchenstories.com//In my experience, it's rare to find a vegetarian cook book that truly caters to foodies, vegetarian and omnivorous alike. The Green Kitchen truly manages to make the mouth water with simple, attainable recipes that leap from the page in gorgeous photographs (even in the iBook/Kindle version, which is a huge plus). I simply cannot wait to add their staples to my own pantry, then harvest inspiration from seasonal produce and the quaint shelves of healtheries and wholefood vendors as I stumble upon them. More exotic ingredients are easily substituted for those less blessed by urban imports, since the emphasis is on simple, classic, flavoursome combinations that feature fresh and available ingredients. If you're not currently a whole food person, or a veggo, then some recipes may seem daunting, but for those of us who know our quinoa from our cornmeal - this delightful book offers a valuable expansion to our daily vegetarian/vegan/gluten free rut. Highly, highly recommended. So fresh, so original, so interesting, so accessible. And the authors offer easy suggestions so that you can make their recipes vegan or gluten-free. In the beautiful cauliflower crust for a pizza, for example, if you'd rather not use eggs, substitute a gel of chia seeds. They provide instructions right at the end of the recipe. You don't have to fish through notes at the end. So many delicious ideas: roasted tomato soup with a delightfully satisfying creaminess that comes from chickpeas; baked herb & pistachio falafel wrapped in savoy cabbage leaves; quinoa, cauliflower & ramps cakes. I could go on. The list is so enticing. This is the freshest, most original cookbook I've come across in quite some time. Buy this book. You won't regret it. In fact, I own the kindle version, but I'll probably buy the hard copy too because I know this is going to be a staple in my kitchen. So my girlfriend likes to cook healthy meals, and had this book on her wish list for a while. No joke, for a guy who likes his meats and salty things, and who generally drinks a bit too much, plays with cats, and despises most green things, the recipes in here are pretty good, if you can get past the semi-pretentious hippy wording and Instagram style pictures. If you can't get past that, then go to Burger King. Or get a girlfriend who will read it and make the food for you.I just got this in the mail a week ago and I've already tried a few recipes. They are simple to make and taste delicious. Only issue that I had was the delay in shipment, as it took over 3 weeks to get, but it was worth the wait. I've already made one of the dessert recipes for a party and it was a huge hit with the guests. This book is simply gorgeous in every way .You can find all the recipes and information on their blog but i take great pleasure in being able to hold the book and flick though.Have made almost all the recipes in the book with everyone being successful and simple.Highly recommendI love their blog. I love the book : easy recipes, good and flavorful dishes. One of my must-have vegetarian cookbookLove this book and looked for it after seeing the recipe for Cauliflower Pizza. Know though that this book is the same book as "Vegetarian Everyday". Right down to the same pictures, same recipes, and same page #'s.LOVE THIS BOOK. I have to admit I have bought rather a lot of wholefood, plant-oriented cookery books over the past year (and I love many of them!). However, this is the one I hands down return to again and again for simple, tasty recipes. Sweet potato gniocci with a hazelnut and kale pesto - better than any gniocci I've ever had. Falaffel wraps - better than the many many falaffels I've eaten whilst working in the Middle East... If you only buy one (but why stop at one?!) buy this one...!The book is written very well and also organised in the way most people would use it. Say evening comes and you want a quick meal - there is a chapter for quick meals. As there are various chapters for what circumstances you are cooking in (breakfast, evening, on the go, etc). Most recipes don;t need tampering, the dosages are good, and the resulting food is simply delicious. Also there are variations mentioned for most recipes according to how you can adapt them according to what ingredients you have or if you want the same recipe with a different twist. Also very informal, user friendly, up close and personal. Easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. Very good combination of good food and healthy food. Who ever said you have to choose between the two?I've been using their website for a few months now and the arrival of a new kitchen obviously required some new cookery books. I'm a recent "vegetarian" following health issues and medication side effects (although not sure I would ever describe myself as fully veggie). I realised I had fallen in to that "beige food" trap and this was my way of climbing out. I've not been disappointed with anything I've made so far and a lot of the recipes are speedy enough to whizz up after work. Its not a preachy book and I don't feel guilty about not using rice flour or nut milk; my shopping bill is still cheaper even with some of the more weird ingredients on it. For me its made a difference and I enjoy eating this way (as does my 3 year old - his clean plates are testament to that); not for everyone but sorted me out.Stopped putting tabs on the pages for the recipes that I like - every single one has been a winner! Simple, easy to follow recipes. Quick preparation and cooking time for quite impressive meals. My absolute favourite cook book.I got suckered in by the writing but when it came to the recipes they were uninspiring especially if you are vegan. I wish I had not bought it
