The pump on this thing doesn't work well. You have to pump several times to get it to give a full pump. The initial pumps are splatters of product and air. It is possible that a thick product, like lotion, might pump better. But I wouldn't count on it.I'm using this item to replace a four year old bottle of hand soap that I had sitting on my kitchen sink filled with dish washing liquid. I wanted something larger. The 'free' pump on that bottle didn't drip and gave me a full pump on the first pump. If I pumped half way, I got half a pump. If I pumped one quarter of the way, I got one quarter of a pump. I like being able to pump a measured amount of product so as not to waste it.As stated above, with the InterDesign pump, you get mostly air and a spattering of product for the first 2 or 3 pumps. You cannot control the amount of product you pump to any reasonable degree. You will inevitably waste a lot of product. Never mind the annoyance of using this pump. Do you really need to be annoyed by something as simple as a pump?As I state in some of my reviews; If you spend money on, and support companies that make inferior, barely operable products, soon that is all you will be able to buy. And it is getting close to that situation already. Regrettably, I've checked the pumps on several different pump bottles in stores, and they look like the same pump. They aren't made anything like the pump on my hand soap bottle. It would probably cost no more than 2 cents to put a decent pump on the InterDesign bottle. Maybe only one cent. Literally.Do not waste your money on this product, or inevitably, on the product that you pump. Do not support manufacturers of defective, barely functioning products.Edit 8-15-13I found a pump on another hand soap bottle that fit this InterDesign bottle. It works fine. It is sooooo nice to again have a pump that works. The tube is an inch too short, but sooner or later I will find a longer one to replace it. Because of the oddball parts in the stainless steel top, I can't use it. It's pretty much a throw away. I'll keep for a little while, just in case I find a way to replace it's pump parts and can put the stainless steel pump back on the bottle. But I seriously doubt it, not worth the trouble.Edit 3-22-15Those flower decals on the front are just that, decals. They're glued on or melted on or something. 90 percent of the area behind them is not connected and crud can get back there. Mine now look terrible and there's no way to get that stuff out. Maybe an ultrasonic cleaner or something.Nice looking, sturdy, stable base, divided, and the flower embellishment is okay, but it can be turned to the other side.I found this worked better as a post-it pad storage than for something wet at the sink. There is no way for the wet scrubber to get air for drying. It does have some raised nobbies on the bottom so nothing has to sit in water, but that could get pretty icky pretty soon.I suggest using it for the desk. It's divided and you'll have 2 colors, or post-it and pens.Item is pretty. When to use it after I got my grill set up outside. Filled it up with soAp. The next day leaked. Not worth the money at allIt is excellent one to use for small kitchen.pros : Easy to use, easy to wash and It doesnt stick with dirts.Cons : There are many times, the suction is strucked and not able to remove from the sink,.Otherwise its a excellent product to use .It would have been little cheaper as per the quality. Overall its good.I purchased for the main reason that it is larger than most soap dispensers. It is used in our kitchen areas and with multiple users, it saves time from filling the hand soap dispensers daily which can now be done weekly. It is stylish and looks great. This product is ok, just don't fill the soap higher than the seam or it oozes out the seam. Other than that, I haven't noticed any issues since purchased a month ago.I like this but it only came with 1 (one) suction and it needs 2 (two). I don't want to return it I just want another suction cup so I can use it.Two days later: I have my replacement! Wonderful customer service!I've had mine for more than three months now. I have had no problems with it so far. I don't expect it to last more than a few months and if it lasts more than six months I'll be very happy. The best part is that it's large so I don't have to refill it very often. It's translucent so that I know how much I have left and it seems to give out just the right amount of soap on each pump.Update: After grading it 5 stars I'm downgrading to two. Didn't last six months. Didn't last after the first refill. What I do now is buy the soft soap with the dispenser and refill it with dishwashing detergent. Works very well and one of them has lasted a lot longer than this hunk of plasticDon't waste your money on this!! I just got it about 3 hours ago and it's already leaking at the pump! I ordered the InterDesign Blumz Kitchen Sink Protector and Sponge Holder ( love the sponge holder!) and saw where others had ordered the countertop soap dispenser as well so I added it to my order without reading the comments! BIG MISTAKE! Had I read them I would have seen that was a BIG complaint that others had as well!! It's $9.99 and to me a much bigger hassle to return it so I'm gonna deal with it as long as I can then just throw it away!!! I have to keep wiping it off because if not it will pool all around the container. The photo I'm posting is after I've wiped it down several times!!!I love how much dish liquid it can hold and that the spout sticks rather far but apparently they didn't try it before selling it!
